Last month we traveled 2 x up further north. We were invited to do a wine-tasting @ Bordeaux farm, a beautiful venue where lots of young people come to make their wedding vows and I can understand why. What a superb location. A school from Swartwater had a wine auction there to fill the box office and it was good to see that so many parents bought amazing wines so Unitas school was supported in a great way for the next school year.
The second time we went to Happy Hippo Farm and what a happy place was that. It was a tea party on the river and definitely my cup of tea… I was unknown with Tea party’s but it’s a great way to prepare or just have fun with a bunch of girls before you get married. I loved the idea of the mother giving her daughter in law to be a cooking class. The day starting with Gin…and a wine-tasting and lunch combined. No sign of a cup of tea…
Working like this is a hobby… a great way to spend time in my lovely new surroundings and meet lovely new people!
Great good wine news comes in …. Bartinney winery won the ISWC Trophy 2018 for best Chardonnay and on top of that the winemaker Ronell Wiid is one of the finalist of the Diners Club Winemaker of the year.
So good news for Lephalale/ Ellisras as the Award winning Chardonnay, but also all the other wines that Ronell creates are available on the next market at Olden Café or by contacting me.
24 Oct. Olden Café Market, Bartinney Wine, MCC and Gin sales
24 Nov. Indonesian buffet (see Events)
